Bowen Family Homes presents: The 5 Things You Need to Know About the Tax Credit

The extension on the home buyer tax credit has been wonderful for both first time and repeat home buyers interested in purchasing a home in 2010. With only two months remaining to take advantage of this amazing opportunity, it's important that all potential home buyers know how the tax credit works. In order to better help buyers understand the important points to the housing stimulus bill, Bowen Family Homes representative, Tanner has created a short video explaining the five things every home buyer should know about the tax credit.

In case you missed any of Tanner's finer points, here's a quick recap of his presentation:

  1. The tax credit does not need to be repaid
  2. This home buyer tax credit applies to both first and repeat home buyers
  3. First time home buyers can receive up to $8,000 back on their new home. Repeat buyers up to $6,500
  4. The tax credit can be used on homes up to $800,000 in value
  5. In order to receive the tax you must have a contract by April 30, 2010
